We’re here to give a voice to the broad views and recovery goals of bushfire affected community members in the Biggara Valley comprising of Biggara, Upper Towong, Indi and Bunroy.

Our committee

The Biggara Valley Community Recovery Committee was established in August 2020 with 12 members. Its purpose is to effectively understand and give a voice to the broad views and recovery goals of community members in the Biggara Valley comprising of Biggara, Upper Towong, Indi (NSW) & Bunroy.

The Biggara Valley Community Recovery Committee’s role is to progress priority activities, projects and service in support of social, economic, environmental, natural and built environmental goals as determined by the Committee. To do so it will liaise between our community and key stakeholders such as local government, Bushfire Recovery Victoria, community service organisations, other state government agencies, funding bodies and individuals to effectively address and fund our recovery and resilience priorities. We will contribute to recovery objectives of the wider Upper Murray community, wherever possible.

Initial identified priority projects include:

  • Biggara Hall Upgrade – Relief & Recovery Hub (funded)
  • Biggara Recreation Reserve Upgrade
